Those who met Max - as he shortens his Name in modern days - the first time, might believe, he is Ventrue or Tremere: dressed in suits with tie, cold and rational. And most of the time, this is the visage others see. He seems interested in science and mathematics, attends artistic performances and is open for discussions about nearly every topic. He seems a little bit reluctant to involve himself deeply in politics - but he does so, if necessary. At least three times he had been Primogen of his own clan and guided his clan through difficult times - until he felt that some other Malkavian was ready to take the title and stepped back willingly. Still he acts as advisor, if needed.

He claims to be descendant of an old blood line of Malkavian oracles and seers, which he can trace back to Malkav himself. And so, perhaps, it's no surprise, that he speaks of things past, present and future, that he talks about lines of destiny and what he can see in others. There are many who claim that his prophecies came to be true, somehow - indeed, if the Prince of Mannheim made him his Oracle and the Prince of Marburg also listens to what he has to say, there has to be some wisdom in his words, or?

It's said that he travelled through much of (western) Europe in the first half of the 20th century. There are records of him and his Sire in London before WWII and he is also a known guest of the court of Paris. After the Great Wars, it's said, that he was several years in Andorra, until settling down in Mannheim. Despite of living in the Domain of Mannheim, he often visits Marburg (some say, he is also citizen of this Domain) and acts as a kind of link between those two domains, whose princes have known each other for a long time. Max also maintains some ties to Paris: He claims, that the Oracle of Paris, Elder of Clan Malkavian, is his grandsire. He also has some connections to Clan Toreador, most notably to Rebecca Sinclair, Ancilla of the clan of roses, who he seems to know since a long time.

Mid-2016, he acted as voice for Cothenius, elder of Clan Malkavian in Marburg. At the moment, it's hard to say, if this was for only one evening or if this persists. Also, after the death of the malkavian Primogen in Mannheim, he again took this office on his shoulders - claiming, that he will speak for his clan, until the clan sends someone other to fill this post.

Rumors tell that he was invited to a Grand Thing of Clan Gangrel in 2016, as a special guest. It's unknown if he earned it, he forced it or if the Clan wanted to discuss some matters with him. But since he came back without a scratch, it seemed he was welcomed warmly - or is way more scary than anticipated.

In the first half of 2018, after a visit in Paris, he was removed from society and hardly seen. It seems that he spent much time contemplating about the past and the future unfolding.

In December 2019 Max travelled to Paris again. He did not return until Mannheim was overrun by the Sabatt. His current whereabouts are unknown. Some believe, he is still in Paris, while other suggest he might be with Clan Gangrel. Others point out, that he had a conflict with the Nosferatu Elder Styx and that Clan Nosferatu therefore catched him.

Rumors

• He seems cold and unemotional most of the time - a fact, which shows in his aura, according to some rumors.
• During the Ball of Marburg (2015), where he acted as some kind of authority for his clan, he met Maleficent - and was the one Malkavian who made her sad.
• He seems to have befriended several members of Clan Gangrel during his existence. In 2016 it's said, that he was even invited to a Gangrel Thing by Kuna.
• Styx, elder of Clan Nosferatu in Marburg, doesn't seem to like him. Then, others tell, that both shared long discussions on other ocassions.
• His connections to Clan Ventrue seem to be strained - on one hand, he has some ties to some older Ventrue, most notably the Princes of Mannheim and Marburg, but on the other hand, he seems to be disliked by several younger members of the Clan of Kings.
• In 2011 he vanished for several months - if the rumors are true, he was in torpor due to some horrible visions he had in Mannheim.
• He attended the courts of Villon, Prince of Paris, several times in the last decades.
• He cut ties with Marburg, after the behaviour of the Prince and the political landscape there changed.
• He did fortell the demise of the Domain of Mannheim, but nobody listened.
• He chose not to fortell the demise of the Domain of Mannheim.
• He was forbidden to warn Mannheim.
• The Prince of Marburg forced him to stay silent about the danger Mannheim faced. This is the reason why Doerr also left Marburg.
• The Nosferatu Elder Styx forced Doerr not to warn Mannheim of reasons of his own.
• He was part of a secret war between the Nosferatu Elder Styx and the Malkavian Elder Cotenius.
